Why trade Forex? World’s largest and most liquid financial market Markets open 24 hours a day Markets are low cost Market transparency offers an even playing field Utilise the power of leverage Cycles and trends in the market are easier to predict than the share market
I feel so weird on saturdays without the futures market open. Thinking about starting to play poker again just to keep my stress levels stoked. Life without the possibility that I’m gonna sell a put and see a 250 point swing on the /ES is just doesn’t do it for me..
I'm considering futures trading (equity, energy, metals) and finding the hours a bit hard to get my head around, especially as I am outside of the US so less familiar and in-sync with the US hours. Can somebody tell me how you guys manage market hours easily? Is there a timezone app which shows the hours visually? I've searched high and low but can't find anything - I may just create a calendar event with the hours but with so many people trading futures I thought there would be an easy way to visually see the hours?
What are the precise Forex market opening hours? (24/6? 24/5?)
This might sound noob, but even after some google searches, I could't find the precise information. Because of overlaps between worldwide markets, Forex EURUSD seems to be open 24/24 most often. But it seems to close during friday night (with Paris timezone, i.e. UTC/GMT+1) and re-open ... I don't know when (but not yet). What are the precise FOREX market open hours / weekend closed time for EURUSD? (in UTC/GMT time)
The market has opened and remember there's plenty of opportunity to make some good money on Forex, 24 hours 5 days a week. If you need to feel inspired or get pumped up, here's a song to get you started for this week. (headphones and play it loud recommended) Let's make some profit, /r/Forex.
I currently work full time working a 8 to 5 kind of job. I have plenty of time on the weekend and a few hours after work to invest my time into learning about the world of trading. I have about 20k in the bank to play around with. Not saying I feel comfortable with throwing all 20k into the market but that’s where I stand. What should I focus on with the life style I have should I do traditional stocks, forex, crypto, a little bit of everything. I’m not trying to be a full time trader but I was thinking about trading as a side job. Where should I invest my time.
I'm trading for 11 months with pretty good success. I never traded metals and forex before, just stocks. Today when gold started to consolidate at the last hour, I decided to scalp short it with a large amount, so I opened 100 lots. I haven't realised, in forex 100 (lots) doesn't mean "100 pcs", because I used to stocks and I went full retard without knowledge. Seconds later, I realised it means 10 million dollars (1 lot = 100.000, and I had 500x leverage). It moved up a bit and immediately I was down £4000. I scared as fuck and rather than closing the position quickly I hoped maybe I could close break even. The market closed, and I waited for the Asian session. The gold popped like never before, and I lost all my life savings (£55000) in less than two hours. (including the 1-hour break between sessions). If I count that I lost all my earnings as well, I lost around £85000. Here is the margin call https://imgur.com/a/XY5m4ZA https://imgur.com/a/VSgmCSs https://imgur.com/pRWl5g9 IC Markets closed my position partially in every 1-2 minutes until I shut it myself at £35. You know the rest of the story. I'm depressed, crying and shouting with myself. Yes, I know I was stupid, thanks. I just wanted to share this with you. Edit: WOW THANK YOU, GUYS! I haven't expected this, but you help me. Many of you asked the same questions, I answer it here: - I live in Europe, and we usually trade CFD's, not futures. - Currency in GBP. - As you can see, this account made on IC Markets. They not just allowing you a 500x leverage, it's the default. - You can ask me why I went against the market. Because gold is way oversold? Because I expected institutions would sell their shares before gold is hitting £2000, leaving retails hanging there. Also, as I said, I wanted to scalp, not riding the gold all the way down. If I had a loss of £100, I would close the position immediately. But when I saw the £4000, my heart is stopped, and my brain just freezes. - I went for a revenge trade with my last £2k, and I don't have to say what happened. I uninstalled the app, and I give up trading for a while. - Again, in the past months, I was cautious, I lost a significant sum in March, but I managed to recover. Made consistent gains, always with SL. This is just an example of how easy is to fuck up everything you did. - I didn't come here for some shiny digital medals. I can't tell about my losses to anyone who I know in real life. I would make a fool of myself. - Anyone who attacking me that it is a scam. Well, think what you want. I feel terrible and the last thing is to answer all the messages saying "You fucking karma whore". I don't give a shit about karma.
I'll leave these as they are for a little while (About 12 hours from now). If you check the trade history of these accounts vrs my posting history you'll see none of the losses made were from trades I posted. Actually sometimes I inverted the trades I posted to generate losses. You can see this in the "History" tab and of course you know how to see my Reddit posts. Heading into Monday I will attach new accounts to this and we can then run phase two of the test. I could just upload accounts already running and proftable to this, but I think it's best to do everything in real time and in the open. From now on I will be trading the same positions as I post and tracking the results of these. You can find these results at the links above as of Monday.
Now I'll trade and track results properly and we get to do a proper experiement into the real motives and nature of everyone involved. I've said it for months, the truth of people will be revealed by their own actions. Just a case of waiting untl the time is right. From now on I'll only trade the things I post in my subs/forum. No messing about. If they bomb this time, I suck. If not, let's see what happens :)

Ive (31f) been with my bf (32m) for 4 years. Overall I think it is a pretty healthy relationship. We both have the same background (Was with ex for 10 years with 2 kids) He treats me well, and respectable. He makes sure that every birthday is special for me. (3-4 day celebration). He texts me Good morning/ Good night every single day. He always sends me a gift on the holidays, that sort of stuff. He co-signed my apartment for me. He’s generally always there if I have a problem, he helps me solve it. I have no doubt that he loves and cares for me and even has rescued me financially a few times before (I’ve always paid him back and I buy him things as well). He also taught me how to produce my own extra stream of income. I don’t depend on him financially but he easily makes 3-4x more than I do. He works from home. He’s a forex tradesports better which requires a lot of research and generally has always made him unavailable throughout the day/week. Before covid we would get together every other weekend on Saturday to Sunday when we were both free from the kids. Although this has always been our norm and I’ve always had a problem with it but I never thought he was lying about anything and I’m an understanding person so I didn’t want to stress him out. The plan we always talk about is that he’s doing all of this to buy us a house then we’ll get married and move in together. He unequivocally believes it will all go very smoothly and I just need to be patient until it happens. Here Is where it gets tricky ... I always wanted some more normalcy like stay some nights at each other’s house/ talking on the phone at night, building a relationship etc , but we’ve never really had that. We’ve been together 3 years. I’ve never met his mothefamily/kids or anyone from his life besides 1 mutual friend. I’ve never been to his house, he’s never openly shared his address but never necessarily hid it either. He says he feels weird about having me at a place he used to share with another woman (his kids mother) .. His excuse is about meeting his family is that it’s not a big deal for him to bring someone home to his family because they aren’t super close and their opinion is not a huge factor, which I can understand because I’m not super close with my family either. But his mom has been living with him since the covid. He has also had his kids full time (1 or 2 days with their mom a month) due to covid because he has the safer living/school environment for them, so needless to say since covid started, we’ve seen each other maybe 1 time monthly. His excuse now is that he doesn’t want to danger his mom and kids which I understand. His stance is that he is dealing with the cards he was dealt (he has to do home schooling with the kids daily , he has to do his research, he has about 4 business partners who depend on him for forex/betting info, he literally has no time and the time he does have he spends it with me, a few hours a month) My stance is that when we truly want something, we make it happen. I’ve expressed this multiple times but he said it isn’t that easy. & He says that he doesn’t want to force things and would rather everything happens organically, which I too understand . I guess my problem is that I used to be excited about a life with him but overtime I’ve gotten so used to how our relationship is that the time apart doesn’t bother me anymore. I don’t care if we talk on the phone or not. He is easily one of the most attractive people I’ve ever seen, but the not seeing each other doesn’t bother me anymore. Ive never been crazy about sex but that isn’t exciting either. I do love him but Essentially I don’t get excited about us anymore. & I feel like a bad person for it. I’m worried that I’m making a mistake being immature by thinking that way. And I should focus on staying together because we already both talked about it being that way. Is this feeling of being out of love temporary? I have no doubt that he’s a good person, I just don’t if I’m setting my standards too low or if I’m just being spoiled and immature. I don’t know if I’m being a brat about it all or if my feelings are legit. I would love a fresh perspective, I’m very private about my life so I’ve never expressed this out loud before. Edit: Some things I left out. No one was ever married. The side piece thing isn’t logical to me because every time we’ve been away for more than 2 days , his ex sends me a message on fb trying to reach him ‘about where are the kids if he’s with me’ No doubt that his ex is not over the relationship (5 years later) and she keeps the kids with him because she knows it’ll tie his time up. Since he doesn’t work a regular job and is the sole financial provider he can’t say no. She tells him she works 6- 7 days a week at a hospital (guilt tripping him that she has to take care of herself now) so she has no time plus covid dangers, and he has to do it. If he says no, he’s afraid she’s going to move across country with the kids, So he does it.
Spent 24 hours in Hungary just to rack up a bunch of traffic fines
I took a road trip in September 2019 that went to six countries (Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Austria, Czech Rep.). We crossed the border into Hungary from Slovakia and drove straight to Budapest. We parked our car on the street outside a cafe for about 30 minutes to check into the hotel, after which the hotel gave us a pass to use their parking garage. Before parking on the side of the street, I made sure that there were no signs forbidding parking or requiring a permit to park. We did some sightseeing, spent the night in Budapest, and departed Hungary the next day. These are the fines I managed to rack up from my 24 hour stay:
Highway fine. I received a ticket in the mail around March 2020. Our rental car did not have a vignette for Hungary. Oops, my bad, I assumed that the rental company had taken care of vignettes. I paid the 80 Euro fine and never heard back from them again.
Parking fine. This one made me extremely angry. I parked my car twice in Budapest: once for 30 minutes on the side of the street to check into the hotel, and after that in the hotel's private parking garage. I received a fine of 120 Euros in the mail around July 2020. Apparently, you need a permit just to bring your car into Budapest and park on the side of the street, and there are no signs anywhere telling you this?! They even have cameras everywhere to enforce this. I have driven a car in over a dozen European countries, and never have I seen anything this ridiculous. I paid the fine, but I was contacted by the agency saying that I was 10 Euros short. WTF? I paid what was on the invoice, so f*** you. I swear, these guys extort money from you like the mafia. Welcome to the world of forex.
Another parking fine. Today, October 2020, over a year since I was in Hungary, I receive a letter postmarked from Sweden. Okay? Why would somebody in Sweden be sending mail to my address in the United States? I open the letter, and it was written in Hungarian. They want another 110 USD from me regarding a parking fine. F*** that. I am 100% done with this.
